Installation Guidelines of Ultra-High Temperature Vibrating Rod Level Switch

Targets at the ultra-high temperature working conditions with process temperature exceeding 250 ℃, Jiwei successfully developed Tube-11 Ultra-High Temperature Vibrating Rod Level Switch on the basis of its high-temperature model. It is featured with the function of water cooling (air cooling) and is able to work reliably under ultra-high temperature conditions that up to 400℃, which significantly expands its application field.

The difference is an innovative cooling sleeve pipe is equipped. One end of the cooling sleeve pipe is welded to the process connection (flange) with air/water intake and vent, another end is connected with the vibrating probe. The air or water flow enters the inside of the vibrating probe through the capillary copper tube to take heat away, to cool the piezoelectric ceramic and wires to the allowable working temperature. This design makes the Tube-11 Ultra-high Temperature Vibrating Rod Level Switch can operate reliably at a temperature up to 400℃, and significantly expands its application field.

 

To guarantee the reliability, there are detailed requirements and guidelines for the installation.

 

1.       Air/water intake tube: select standard 6*4 (Outer Diameter 6mm) PU air tube. Cut a flat surface at the end of the tube, then insert to the air intake connector till the end, and screw the locking nut. It is recommended that the pressure of the on-site gas should be 0.8Mpa.

 

2.       Minimum cooling air flow rate. The exhaust nozzle is fastened with whistle, and the outer wall of the exhaust nozzle is placed close to the inner wall on the side of the whistle vent. The cooling air intake rate is increased slowly until the whistle sounds. At this time, the corresponding cooling air flow rate is the minimum.

 

3.       When install laterally, keep the air intake on the flange facing down.

 

4.       Before installation, please confirm if the cooling air is well connected and the ventilation can be normally operated. During installation, cooling air must be supplied continuously.

 

5.       To stop the cooling air, make sure Tube-11 is removed from the application and its probe cools down to normal temperature. To prevent dust and water from entering to the vent, temporarily connect a 6 × 4 soft pipe, and seal it after tying.

 

6.       Under operation, the vent discharges high-temperature gas. Do not place any non-heat resistant object nearby, and make sure the vent dose not blocked by any objects. For safety concerns, the vent should be labeled with high-temperature warning signs to inform the danger.

 

7.       There should be sufficient distance/space between the meter housing and the container wall.

 

Before ordering, the extended length needs to be confirmed, and ensure that there is sufficient distance between the meter and the container body. Since the temperature in the container is about 400 ℃, the temperature near the container wall is generally scorching. Since the ambient temperature of the meter housing cannot exceed 80 ℃, so should keep a certain distance from the container wall. Especially when install laterally, it is recommended that the distance L between the meter housing and the container wall should be greater than 40 cm.
