Rada-21 is a 25 GHz high-frequency pulse radar level meter with horn antenna. It is dedicated to liquids or slurries level measurement, and suitable for applications under high temperature and high pressure environment. Radar-21 is designed to take advantage of high-frequency characteristics of microwave signals and configured with a diameter less than 40mm horn antenna. This makes Radar-21 especially suitable for small vessels and small measuring tubes.
The Rada-21 pulse radar level meter is designed with high frequency microstrip structure. A 25GHz microwave pulse signal is generated by the internal electronic circuit. Based on high frequency waveguide theory, the microwave pulses are transmitted from the end of the antenna. When the transmitted pulses hit the surface of the measured medium, part of the energy is reflected back and received by the same antenna. A special time expanding technique is used to produce a signal contains information of the time interval between transmitted pulse and received pulse. The distance between antenna and surface of the measured medium is then calculated as a result.
